Review: Build a Halfling Army With One Box of Wargames Atlantic Minis
This box from Wargames Atlantic contains 40 minis – enough to build an entire Halfling army!
Want to field a Halfling army in your fantasy wargames or add some new minis to your RPG games? If so, Wargames Atlantic has this box of minis that you can use to make just that! Let’s take a closer look! This is the box art of Wargames Atlantic’s Halfling Militia miniatures.
Yes, you are reading that right. There are 40 minis in the box!!! Absolutely amazing! No matter what you buy, Wargames Atlantic packs a lot of value into its products. With 40 minis in a box, the figures in this Halfling Militia set come in at just under $1 a miniature! If you want to make huge Halfling armies for your fantasy games, take a look right here.
The Sprues
You get 8 sprues in a box that each make 5 miniatures each. As you would expect from Wargames Atlantic, there are plenty of options.
All five bodies on the sprue have the same amount of armor, but you get 15 heads and lots of weapons. On each sprue, there are two bows, two slings, two pikes, two halberds, and a dagger. There are also a couple of extra options, including a buckler, a frying pan, another dagger in a holster, and even a chicken!
This means that in a single box, you can make the following…
- Up to 16 Pikemen
- Up to 16 Spearmen
- Up to 16 archers
- Up to 16 slingers
- Up to 8 skirmishers with a dagger and buckler
There is also a horn so you can make a musician for your army. This gives you some variety to build up your figure 40 miniatures that come in a box of Halfling Militia by Wargames Atlantic.
The Built Halfling Models
As with other Wargames Atlantic miniatures, building these figures is super fast and easy. Below are four of the figures I built.
Of these miniatures, the one with the halberd is my favorite. You get just one bucket helmet like that one per sprue.
To get a feel for the bow, I made a Robin Hood type figure. This Halfling archer is supporting a unique cap that gives him a Robin Hood type of feel. You get one head per sprue with this cap.
Scale Comparison
I figured that most people here know the figures of Age of Sigmar fairly well. As such, I used a Stormcast Eternal for scale comparison below. For more scale comparison images, check out my longer review on MCM.
Wrapping it up…
Overall, these Halfling Militia Miniatures by Wargames Atlantic are fantastic for anyone looking to build up a Fantasy Halfling army. The only word of caution that I have is to be careful because the arrows are a little thin. They work well, but I accidentally cut one of them in half.
Aside from that, I had no issues with this kit. They are simple miniatures that you can use to build out an army quickly. On top of that, they are extremely affordable and look good too!
