‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ S2 – The Adventure Continues in First Trailer
The first look at Strange New Worlds S2 promises more of what made the last so great – heartfelt stories and action-packed adventures.
Strange New Worlds spins off from the plotline in the second season of Discovery. It’s focused on a more optimistic future. One is closer in tone and feel to the Orignal Series than the more recent series. The show jumps back in the timeline and pulls in characters from the iconic 1960s show. Not only is there adventure, but there is also comedy and romance. Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise quickly became fan favorites.
This summer we’ll join the crew on new missions, meet new crew members, and explore where no man has gone before. Star Anson Mount has said that Strange New Worlds S2 is bigger than the last. Telling Collider:
“When you have a new story every week or a new planet every week, you can also change the mode and the tone. We’ve been really pushing the boundaries with that in the second season, and seeing how many different kinds of genres and things we can get away with, and being able to invite many different kinds of directors with many different kinds of styles. It’s just been a joy.”
This season will include a special Star Trek: Lower Decks crossover episode featuring live-action and animation. It’s directed by Jonathan Frakes, featuring Tawny Newsome as Ensign Beckett Mariner and Jack Quaid as Ensign Brad Boimler back with the Enterprise crew.
