Teen Titan’s Raven is one of the most popular characters for cosplay, and we’ve covered her before. Today we’re back in the atmosphere with another cosmic cosplay creation – the Starfire closet cosplay. She’s spunky, wholesome, and completely clueless. Let’s build Starfire!
The Teen Titans are a lovable group of miscreants intent on making the world a better place. Through trial and error, laughter and loss, this group gives us the feels as they traverse the globe to solve crimes. Starfire is a crimson-haired mystery from another planet, and her charming lack of cultural awareness is one of the most endearing parts of the team. We’re tackling this heroine, giving you all the inspiration to make a cosplay of your own.
Starfire Closet Cosplay: The Halter Top
This look is pretty simple at its core. Whatever pieces you throw together (or buy), just make sure they’re the same color and you’re set. Starfire rocks separates, a crop top, and skirt. Find something comfortable, supportive, and haltered. The rest is just details!
Starfire Closet Cosplay: The Skirt
As I mentioned above, just make sure the color is consistent, and you can get away with pretty much any cut of the skirt. This one happens to have shorts underneath, which is great if you’re using something short and plan on moving a lot. The rest is up to you!
Starfire Closet Cosplay: The Boots
I actually expected it to be tricky to find thigh-high, purple boots without crazy high heels online. Lo and behold- Amazon delivered! Now- if you’re going with boots you already have in your closet, you can either paint them purple or make a fabric cover. You don’t have to go to the store for this cosplay. Honestly, most cosplayers just cover whatever shoes they have when building cosplays- shoe fabrication is DIFFICULT. Rock a high-heeled boot if you like, or flats if that works better.
Starfire Closet Cosplay: The Necklace
The devil is in the details of this piece. The necklace/collar situation I’m suggesting is a separate piece layered on top of the halter top, but it can be something attached or a piece you make from Worbla or another material. Go fancy, practical, jeweled, or metallic. Whatever floats your boat!
Starfire Closet Cosplay: The Gloves
I would try to match the tone of the gloves to the necklace if possible. I always include accessories, but you could go without them if you like. Starfire is recognizable with or without gloves, so repurpose what you have or buy something new!
