Zhatan the Black shows the strength of the Chaos Dwarves in a new gameplay trailer from Creative Assembly.

The Dawi-Zharr will come crashing into Total War: Warhammer 3 in a little more than a week. And with them, come some terrifying new mechanics, and powerful new Legendary Lords.

Legendary Lords like Zhatan the Black, who is perpetually angry and ready to work off some of that steam with his axe and the rest of his army ready to back him up. You can see exactly how, as well as some of the Chaos Dwarves’ new mechanics at play in the latest gameplay trailer.

Zhatan the Black – Gameplay Trailer

It’s time to see how Zhatan’s Warhost of Zharr handle things! Expect lots of fire, lots of factories, and lots of very unfortunate skeletons…

As ever in these gameplay videos, the Skullcracker continues to be the runaway hit of the army. And it’s not hard to see why, it’s pretty good in a variety of situations. The Labor mechanic here means you have a currency you can spend to quickly construct buildings. Not only lets you reinforce any garrisons, but you can supplement emergency recruiting Lords. But you can also use this to advance the clock on key buildings that might otherwise just take too long.

Zhatan’s Warhost of Zharr makes excellent use of the Forge of Chaos to get upgrades. As we get to see in the video, one of the big things that Chaos Dwarves get to play with is their Armaments. These are generated through their buildings and from their labor as a way to provide upgrades for their forces.

With every Armament you can purchase upgrades for your different weapons, making your units that much more powerful overall. From upgraded ranged weapons to armor and more, there’s a lot to dive into.
