Warhammer 40K: 10th Edition Starter Box Tyranids
Games Workshop showed off the launch box for Warhammer 40,000: 10th Edition. The Hive Mind hungers for the new Tyranid models!
The next edition is coming in June and Games Workshop has a new boxed set for the launch. Included in the box will be a host of new miniatures and to kick things off we’re starting with the new and improved Tyranids! Now, you might have already seen the Winged Tyranid Prime and new Termagants but those weren’t the only model on the way…
Winged Tyranid Prime
Von Ryan’s Leapers
Psychophage
The Hive Mind will be devouring your psykers with the new Psychophage! I can’t wait to see what this big bug will do on the tabletop.
Barbgaunts
Larger than other guants, this creatures has a symbiotic relationship with the bio-weapon creature on it’s back. Note how it’s fourth limb is actually “interfaced” with the creature on it’s back.
Neurogaunts
Neurogaunts have a “node beast” (the one in the middle) that is sort of the squad leader.
Neurotyrant
If you want to go for a more psyker-heavy force then the Neurotyrant is the one for you! Flanked by a pair of “neurolyds” (we’re guessing on the spelling here) this creature is a psychic powerhouse and is very in tune with the Shadow in the Warp.
As a fun aside, GW also showed off the new creature vs an old Zoanthrope as a comparison point. They have a very similar head!
Screamer-Killer
And the Screamer-Killer is BACK! Four massive claw-arms and a face that spits screaming plasma death! Get ready for this big boy to cause havoc on the tabletop.
And again, you can see the design inspiration from the old school model. Very cool callback!
Ripper Swarms
Rippers are also getting a new model set of models. On the plus side these should fit in very nicely with any of the older models you might have so blending the new and old will be easy.
Combat Patrol: Tyranids
With the new mode of play using Combat Patrols, you’ll get all of the above models in the new Boxed set and you can use them to create the same batch of creatures from the Combat Patrol, too. So this is kind of a double reveal. And yes, Termagants are included in the starter box as well as the combat patrol!
Who’s ready for the Tyranid Invasion?
