The latest Necromunda Apocrypha pits the Ashwood Stranger against a mysterious Ashwaste Nomad. Who’s going to survive this wild west style showdown?

One of the great things about Necromunda moving outside the Hive with the Ash Waste expansion is that we finally get to explore all the tiny towns and settlements that have sprung up in the wasteland. It’s a setting that reminds me a lot of the Wild West or Mad Max or some combination of the two. I’m still not sure why GW hasn’t worked with Crucible 7 to come up with a Necromunda RPG for the Wrath and Glory system…but that’s not what I’m here to talk about today. No, I want to talk about the latest free download to try out Halfway Dead.

via Warhammer Community

“Packed with pilgrims, outcasts, and travellers, Halfway is a tempting target for the Ash Waste Nomad war parties of the Tsun’ghar. Led by a pitiless warrior chieftain known as the Wind that Walks, the Nomads descend on this frontier town intent on its destruction. Unfortunately for the Nomads, they didn’t count on one patron of the local drinking hole taking exception to their assault – the notorious outlaw Ashwood Stranger.”

On the surface this new scenario pits the Ash Wastes Nomads as the attackers in a raid against an Underhive Outcast. But each gang is also being led by their respective champ. For the Ash Waste Nomads it a new character named the Wind that Walks (represented by an Ash Waste Nomad Chieftain). While the Underhive Outcasts are led by the legendary (and also mysterious) Ashwood Stranger.

As always you can use this scenario regardless of the gangs you’re using. But if you want to follow the narrative using those two gangs is the way to go. The scenario itself also includes a breakdown of rules you can use and has some special rules as well.

If you’re just looking to try something new or if you want to deal with changing weather during the game this one is certainly worth a go! Besides, the idea of this partially invisible hunter stalking through the storm stalking your gang down is just a cool idea.

Which side will you choose in Halfway Dead?
