Warhammer 40K: 10th Ed – World Eaters Rule Previews
It’s time for Blood and Skulls. The World Eaters are coming to 10th edition and they have the blessings of Khorne!
The World Eaters are bringing the pain in 10th edition with and update Khorne can approve of. If you’re looking to take skull and shed blood then the Sons of Angron are going to be your jam. Check out the servants of the Blood God and what they can do on the tabletop!
If brutal close combat is the name of your game, the World Eaters are the only players worth looking at. Their bloodletting skills are off the charts, and now that everyone’s just a bit tougher all round, they have plenty of time to get stuck in.
That’s not to say that the sons of Angron are all brawn and no brain – Khorne’s chosen Legion are surprisingly adept at wresting control of objectives away from their opponents, and can lock down their territory even as their warriors surge off in search of more blood, skulls, and other things of this nature.
World Eaters Faction Rules
Army Rule – Blessings of Khorne
At the start of every battle round World Eaters will get to roll 8 dice. These dice can then be used to activate up to two different Blessings of Khorne. With a little luck you can get some pretty impressive stacking buffs for your army…
While these effects only last until the end of the Battle Round, they do apply to every unit in your army with the ability. That’s going to be pretty potent and can really give you an edge in combat.
Stratagem – Blood Offering
Blood Offering allows you to maintain control of an Objective Marker even if the unit that was controlling it was destroyed. Why would you use this? Well maybe the target unit got destroyed by shooting because the enemy didn’t want to get up close for some reason…now they are going to have to move onto the objective if they want to take it. And you’re still holding it with no one there…
Unit Rules
Khorne Berzerkers
Clearly the Khorne Berzerkers are still a close combat nightmare. And with Blood Surge they are going to get there a whole lot faster. In fact, each time a different unit destroys a model at range, they are going to get a D6 move! Target them wisely. Otherwise you’re in a for a world of hurt from those Berzerker chainblade and Khornate eviscerators.
Angron
Hey look who’s still a beatstick! If you need to cleave a Marine Squad in two or tear apart a titan, Angron is your Daemon Primarch for the job. You can see all the crazy abilities above but personally, I’m really looking forward to Reborn in Blood kicking in at just the right time. If you get a few units with Icons on objectives you can up your odds of successfully resummoning him back to the tabletop. And just think of all the hard work your opponent had to do to remove him the first time and smile as you’ve just undone all of it.
Weapon – Daemongore Cannon
Few weapons in the World Eaters armoury can be described as much more than ‘a big, sharp lump of metal’, but they don’t entirely neglect the sheer damage a good old-fashioned cannon can do. The mighty Lord of Skulls can mount several such weapons in its giant tracked body – and the daemongore cannon is getting a healthy Strength and Damage upgrade to deal with everything from tough-as-nails Terminators to super-heavy battle tanks.
Yeah…that’s going to be a gnarly attack from a Lord of Skulls. Fitting when you think about it. Use it to pop armor or take out tough targets before you use the axe on this behemoth to get to the squishy insides.
Blood for the Blood God! Skulls for the Skull Throne!
