Warhammer 40K: 10th Edition – Tyranid Datacards We Want To See

I mean we could just say “all” but we’ve got a short list of datacards we want to see from the Tyranid army.

There are a few unit staples in the Tyranid army that we really want to get rules for. We’ll still have to wait unit launch day but these are the units I’m personally going to skip straight to see how they work and what sorts of rules they are going to have.

Hive Tyrant (With and without Wings)

Hive Tyrants are always a solid core option in your Tyranid Army. They have been for years. While we did get a look at the Swarmlord, we want to compare that to the base version of the Hive Tyrant. Plus, we want to see what sorts of options it will have with and without wings.

Carnifex

For a similar reason, we also want to see what a Carnifex will look like in the new edition. The Screamer-Killer seems like it’s going to be its own thing distinct from a standard Carnifex. Are we going to seen the “Thornback” or other variants again? And what if we want to do a “build your own” version?

Hormagaunts

On the other end of the spectrum we really want to see what Hormagaunts will look like in the new edition. The new Termagants models are bigger and we’ve seen their datacard, too. But what about their close-combat focused kin? Will it be worth taking them over Genestealers? Will they have different roles? What about Hormagaunts vs the new Neurogaunts? We’ve got questions!

Tyranid Warriors

Anyone else curious to see where the medium bugs are going to fall? Are we going to get the winged version of warriors back as an option, too? What’s their toughness going to be in this edition? What about wounds and armor save? How is their diverse armory going to look? Personally, I always liked these models and would run them regardless. It would be nice if they were good this edition, too.

Venomthropes

With the changes to cover I’m wondering what sorts of benefits the Venomthropes will provide. Will their spores be effective in the new edition? And are they going to be more than just mobile cover? I have quite a few of these models personally so I’m hoping they are going to be useful in 10th.

Haruspex

Full disclosure, I opted for a Haruspex over an Exocrine when I built this model and for years I’ve been questioning my own decision. It’s never quite been the terror that it looks like. Who knows…maybe in 10th it will finally live up to the massive maw that it has. Could 10th be it’s turn to shine?

I could literally keep going and just list the rest of the units. I’m excited about the Tyranids for 10th — but what units do you want to see the datacards for first?

Which datacards are you going to skip straight to when 10th edition launches?
