Warhammer 40K: Tyranid Kits We Want First
The Tyranids are getting a pretty big overhaul with the new edition. Here’s a few kits we hope to get first.
We already looked at all the new tyranid models coming in the new Warhammer 40,000: Leviathan launch box. Now we’re taking a look at those models and wishlisting which of those kits and other kits we hope GW puts out as individual kits first.
Von Ryan’s Leapers
I’m really looking forward to some new lictor-type models. I think a group of pack-hunting lictors aka Von Ryan’s Leapers is going to be a good option as a stealthy ambush pack. This is a kit that I hope we see released because I’d like to run a larger squad than just three!
Barbgaunts
I have no idea what these Barbgaunts are going to do on the tabletop but I think they look great. I don’t know if they are going to have different weapon options in the future or what but the idea of having a group of medium-sized gaunts that can bring a bigger symbiotic weapon with them is appealing. If they work kind of like a devastator squad but for Tyranids that would be great! Something besides Hive Guard, but with maybe slightly lighter firepower is a good addition and I really want this unit to get a solo release.
Neurotyrant
This model looks awesome and I love the exposed brain and extra floating nodes that come with it. I really hope that this model won’t be relegated to the the Leviathan box. Please GW, don’t pull a Chaos Obliterator and leave this in a combo box only for this model!
New Carnifex Kit?
I really love the new look of the Screamer-Killer and I do hope we get some version of this at a later date. However, I really hope we get a new Carnifex kit that mimics the look of the Screamer-Killer and gives us more poses and more options. I’m not entirely sure on the dimensions of the new Screamer-Killer but it looks more upright and larger than the old Carnifexes. Here’s hoping we new a new kit with a size upgrade for that iconic unit!
Gaunt Box
The Termagants got a rework and are now bigger have different poses. However, I’m hoping that we get some sort of Combo-box for “Gaunts” so we can eventually get new Hormagaunts and new Termagants all in one kit. I am positive GW is going to release a new Termagant box at some point — we already know the Combat Patrol will include them. So here’s hoping we see a fuller kit with all the classic options and maybe some Hormagaunt options as well (or a new Hormagaunt kit, I’m cool with that, too).
There’s more units coming in the Leviathan Starter box and those models will also be a part of the updated Combat Patrol: Tyranids. But these are the models I’m hoping we get as new kits first…but not the only models we get for the Tyranids!
There’s so many new bio-forms coming…if you can only pick one, which kit would you want released first?
