Bowsette is a fan-created character from Nintendo’s Mario universe who took the world by storm in 2018. Since her arrival on the scene, a myriad of cosplayers have flocked to create costumes for her. Bowsette is the result of Bowser using the Super Crown power-up to transform into a female version of Princess Peach. With her black gown, horns and crown, and black spiked cuffs, she’s a vivid character who is a LOT of fun to cosplay. Who doesn’t love to be bad?! Bowsette Closet Cosplay: The Gown
This is a pretty straightforward base for your cosplay. The blue jewel detailing is particularly pretty. Any black dress can do, just dress it up and let the accessories make the statement for you!
This character is an amazing excuse to bring Lolita fashion to life. The contrast between soft, feminine fabrics and cuts with the austere black coloring and spiked details is a lot of fun. Go nuts and choose a gown or bodysuit that suits YOUR style, and build the look up around that!

The crown makes the Princess, and this cosplay isn’t complete without it. The crown is the defining feature of what makes Bowsette, so it’s a great idea to incorporate it into your cosplay. Feel free to make your own, or find some other creative way to bring the crown to life!
Bowsette Closet Cosplay: The Cuffs and Collar
You can approach Bowsette’s detailing from several different directions, depending on your personal preference. The contrast of a princess gown and black leather and silver studded detailing is really fierce and a ton of fun to cosplay. Whip out those old Hot Topic bracelets and get to work, or find some other flavor of detailing that suits your style! Remember- you can make cosplay anything you like- make it feel like you!
Bowsette Closet Cosplay: The Turtle Shell
No Koopa is complete without their shell–and there are a plethora of these online already. You could dress this down with a simple green backpack if you like or leave the shell off entirely if you’re strapped for time and accessories. But having a Koopa backpack is pretty genius, especially if you’re taking Bowsette to an event- you’ll have plenty of space to store things!
Bowsette Closet Cosplay: The Shoes
You can go with any black heel or pull in some color with pink or blue, but I think a fierce black heel or boot with some metallic detailing is just the ticket to finish off this ass-kicking cosplay.
