Pendragon is an RPG from the heyday of the mid-80s. When D&D had set the landscape, fantasy rules thrived as long as you had some new ideas. And Greg Stafford and Chaosium had ideas to spare. The original Pendragon quickly got critical acclaim with many thinking it was one of the best-designed games they’d ever seen. Simplicity and satisfaction mixed in with a classic setting and traits that dot the Arthurian landscape, both virtuous and viceful, all made for a smash hit.
Now Chaosium has announced a new Pendragon RPG Starter Set which will bring chivalry and legends in the time of the Sword in the Stone to your tabletop. With new rules for solo play and a newbie-friendly campaign, there’s a lot to love.
Pendragon RPG Starter Set – Coming at the End of June
Pendragon is a roleplaying game set in King Arthur’s Britain. You take on the role of knights and overcome mythical monsters, rival knights, and other wondrous challenges in search of Glory.
The Pendragon Starter Set presents a world of great adventure. This is the time of the Sword in the Stone, of the Boy King and Merlin and their struggles against those who would seize the crown for themselves…and of the flowering of chivalry. This is a time of desperate battles, dark portents, enchanted forests, pride, and self-indulgence.
And it’s true. Pendragon lives and dies by its virtues and vices. When you make a character, you’ll be noble and cowardly and many other things. Struggle too far in any direction and you’ll tell some interesting stories. Do you have what it takes to be a true knight? Here’s where you find out.
