The new Games Workshop Rumor Engine is covered in quills. Who would be wearing a cloak covered in these quills? Peter is that you?

It’s another Tuesday which means it’s Rumor Engine time. Today’s Rumor Engine is another one of those “well, obviously it’s a [thing] but who does it belong to?” type of Rumor Engines. See for yourself:

“We’ve hit a bit of a snag – see, after our experiments with the Rumour Chain last month, our old Rumour Engine is sulking and only showing us things from the very near future. This morning it had the gall to transmit a picture of some disgruntled engineers complaining about a fictional machine on the internet.”

Rumor Engine: Cloaked With Quills

Based on the cloak and the arrows, I’m willing to go out on a limb and say this is probably from the Mortal Realms of Age of Sigmar. It doesn’t look very high tech so it’s likely not from 40k. That said, who would be wearing a cape or cloak that’s got all these quills/daggers sticking out of them?

This feels like something from a unit/warband that’s going to show up in a Warcry expansion. Is there a specific faction that this cloak fits in with? I can’t think of one off the top of my head right now but I’m sure in 5 minutes it’s going to come to me.

What I mean is that this feels like it would be a perfect bit for a one-off unit kit. That’s the cool part about Warcry or even Warhammer Underworlds. Games Workshop gets to play around with different styles and really experiment. Take the Rotmire Creed above. That’s a unit that’s really not like anything else in the Chaos line-up.

Alternatively, what if that cape is just the result of someone that got spotted by some very good archers and they forgot their shield at home. Now they are full on porcupine mode and full of arrows. Ouch.

Either way, if you’ve got a theory drop us a line in the comments! What in the heck could this one be?
