‘Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors’ Goes to (Bullet) Hell With a New Roguelite Survivor Game

You know a game is good when its name kind of becomes a genre all its own. Souls-like. Metroidvania. And now, a new challenger is emerging, inspired by Vampire Survivors a game where you collect weapons and make Castlevania sprites explode into experience and numbers so big and exciting you can hardly keep up with what’s going on. BKOM Studios and Paizo have announced a “roguelite bullet hell survivor game” set in the Pathfinder universe, which is extremely exciting.
Because who doesn’t love collecting and unlocking new abilities, deadlier attacks, powerful spells, and more? Mix it up with some new bosses, and you’ll take out a deadly Lich in Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors. Take a look.
Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors – Bullet Hell But With Swords & Spells
Players battle through Gallowspire, the legendary Pathfinder setting, as one of three heroes—and alongside an ally of their choosing—until they face the immortal villain who awaits within. To get there, they must slay hordes of enemies, collect and upgrade an arsenal of powerful spells and weapons, and overcome deadly bosses — while growing stronger with each attempt.
If you don’t know the drill, here’s the basic rundown: you play as one of three different heroes, each taking on the forces of the lich-emperor Tar-Baphon, who has been sealed away in the Gallowspire. Of course, the wards are failing, and it’s up to you and you alone to save the world from the Whispering Tyrant.
Which you’ll do by killing as many enemies as you can before you get overwhelmed. After all, the game is a Roguelite, which means you’re expected to grow stronger with each death, repeating your battles until at last you manage to eke out a victory.
Then you probably fight a boss who does something that’s total BS and you’re back to square one. But each time you’ve got a new ability. Or unlocked a new weapon. You’ll find a diverse array of powers that all coalesce into a unique build that suits your playstyle in the game.
And numberless hordes of undead minions. It’s endless waves of undead, hence the “survivors” part. But that just means that BKOM and Paizo will have to throw their own wrinkles into the formula. Boss fights, different levels of the tower, and who knows what else they’ll toss in to make this uniquely Pathfinder. But we’ll see as the game gets closer to release.
Right now, Pathfinder Gallowspire is set to release later in 2023!
