Space Marine 2: New Trailer And Co-Op Campaign Confirmation
Games Workshop has released a new trailer for Space Marine 2 plus an announcement on some sweet Co-Op Action!
Space Marine 2 is slated for a release “This Winter” according to the new trailer. It’s also our first look at some co-op footage from the game.
“Crushing Tyranids beneath the size-30 soles of a Space Marine boot is a lot of fun, but it’s lonely being a one-man army. Lieutenant Titus knows this well, so for his latest adventure in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 he’s brought along a pair of indomitable colleagues to fill the void left by Sidonus* and that other guy nobody likes.
Faced with the swarming teeth of a descending hive fleet, our hero will need all the help he can get – which is just as well, as you’ll be able to enlist the two friends to tackle the full Space Marine 2 campaign in up to three-player co-op.”
Space Marine 2 Co-Op Campaign
While we don’t have a ton of info about the game’s campaign or co-op features just yet it does look like players will be able to link-up and play together through the campaign. It will feature 3 playable characters and, if I had to guess, it looks like your friends can jump into the boots of the other two battle-brothers. So you’ll likely have the host player as Titus while the other two players can fill the role of the squad-mates.
That’s actually pretty handy and also follows a similar format as the previous Space Marine game — at least in terms of the squad-size. Although they were basically AI controlled helpers and now it looks like you’ll have the option for your friends to play along. I do wonder if we’re going to have the drop-in/drop-out option for the other two Space Marines.
It will be nice to have another pair of players to work with as those hordes of Tyranids look daunting! I was already sold on this game before and I’m even more excited to get my hands on it now. One more thing I’d like to see is the plan for any multiplayer PvP action. The first Space Marine had a really fun PvP experience with some great game play. I spent a lot of hours playing those modes with friends. Here’s hoping that’s in the cards, too!
Now then…I need to find some willing recruits to take on the Tyranid invasion with me.
