The ever-growing Spider-Verse has added some exciting projects that will make fans very happy. Plus an update on the fate of Spider-Man 4.

With the release of Across the Spider-Verse happening this weekend, the producers are looking to the future. One that’s wide open and filled with possibilities that include animation and live-action.

Producer Amy Pascal told Variety that next year’s Beyond the Spider-Verse isn’t the only project involving Miles that’s on the slate. She didn’t offer details but confirmed that a live-action movie is in the works. Fans have been asking for a live-action project starring Miles for years – glad to see it’s more than hopes and rumors. Maybe we’ll get to see Mile’s live-action uncle again.

Pascal also confirmed that an animated Spider-Woman movie is on the way. Again, details are sparse – not sure if this will be Jessica Drew or Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman. Hailee Steinfeld would love to continue voicing Gwen in a solo movie.

“This is like my dream job, sign me up over and over again. I got to be comfortable! And it’s a dream to be in a space that feels so comfortable but also creative and free and just exciting to be a part of.”

Tom Holland & Spider-Man 4

The conversation with Pascal also included news about Tom Holland’s future in the franchise. The studio is still working on a fourth Spider-Man movie starring the actor and Zendaya.

The last news on the project was from Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, who confirmed they had a story set but no script. That process has been paused, according to Pascal.

“Are we going to make another movie? Of course, we are. We’re in the process, but the writers strike, nobody is working during the strike. We’re all being supporters and whenever they get themselves together, we’ll get started.”

That’s an odd way of saying, “Once the studios agree to the WGA’s very reasonable terms, we’ll start to work again” – but I digress.

It will be interesting to see if this next movie will go a more comics-accurate route, something that doesn’t pull Peter into the MCU’s big plot arc. There are some rumors floating around that link the movie to Charlie Cox’s Daredevil. There are some fantastic storylines featuring the two street-level heroes fighting crime together.
