‘The Expendables 4’ – Stallone, Statham, and Lundgren Are Back in Action
The world is once again at risk of destruction and only these iconic action stars can save us. Check out the explosive first trailer for The Expendables 4.
Stallone and the Expendables are back after nearly a decade-long hiatus. They’re the world’s last line of defense, the team that gets called when there are no other options left. This time the crew is trying to thwart WWIII–with some new members that bring new tactics to the fight.
This one will make Statham fans happy–he looks to be at the center of this mission and according to Stallone, he’s in 80% of The Expendables 4.
The rating hasn’t been announced, but Stalone was unhappy with the choice to go with a PG-13 rating for Expendables 3. He mentioned it and some story possibilities in an interview shortly after the movie came out in 2014.
“Absolutely unequivocally yes. I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I’m quite certain it won’t happen again. It’s is a big conflict for me, because in an R-rated film it is difficult to believe that none of the heroes die. I personally just believe that the characters become identifiable and their demise could put a dark cloud over an audience exiting the theatre after seeing the film. But that may change in ‘Expendables 4’…”

The trailer doesn’t quite match the harder-on-the-action and violence plan, but we’ll see what the MPA has to say about it. It does look like it fits the franchise–fun, bombastic, classic action-comedy. You can tell these guys have a blast making them.
