The Battle for Oghram is progressing along and the global campaign is SUPER close. Who’s going to win this conflict?

Games Workshop has included a flyer in each boxed set of Leviathan with a code that allows players to report their results of their Warhammer 40,000 game between the Tyranids and Space Marines. The campaign kicked off four days ago and GW is already saying they’ve gotten thousands of battle reports in! They even made a handy graphic to showcase how the fight is going.

“With tens of thousands of games reported, things are genuinely on a knife-edge – at almost exactly 50/50 with the Space Marines slightly eking out victory over the Tyranid swarms. It’s incredibly close – at one point on Wednesday, there was literally one game in it! And with 10 days left, there’s still plenty of time left to report your games, and help decide the fate of a world.”

Battle For Oghram – A Razor’s Edge

It really doesn’t get much closer than that! I’m just impressed with the number of players reporting in with “tens of thousands of games reported” so far. It kind of makes me wonder a few things about the actual number of players of Warhammer 40,000 as well as how many boxes have been shipped and sold! Considering that each code is limited to a single entry that’s a LOT of shipped boxes.

Also, I’m personally pretty surprised that after that many games it’s really that close. I know we’ve got another 10 days left in the campaign but I do wonder how many codes are still out there floating around waiting to be redeemed. So maybe it’s still up in the air. I’m hoping that folks are also playing the Combat Patrol version of this game to keep it more balanced and that’s why it’s so close — that would be a good sign!

Don’t forget if your entering it’s your chance to win a TON of minis from Games Workshop. Additionally, the winning side will get their models revealed first. So this is  global campaign with some real-world repercussions…albeit not that serious in terms of repercussions.

So get your boxed sets, get your game on, and then report the results! Oghram needs you.
