Warhammer 40K: Crusade Carry Over – Your Crusade Army Continues
Games Workshop has a new Crusade document so you can bring in your Crusade Army from last edition allowing your narrative to continue!
Building and playing with a Crusade Army is quite the rewarding experience as each time you play with those units they are changed. They earn glory and honor and also pick-up some scars along the way. Crusade Armies are an emergent narrative that can be deeply personal for your army. So it’s a shame that you’ll have to start your Crusade Army over in the new edition…or will you?
Crusade is continuing into the new edition, though things are changing slightly. But that doesn’t mean that your loyal and long-serving veterans need to hang up their augmented bolter ammunition – your Crusade force from the previous edition can be carried over into the new one with a simple document, available to download below.

This simple one-pager has the steps you can use to update your previous Crusade Army over to the new Crusade updated format. There’s even rules in there for “putting a unit into stasis” if you don’t want to update them immediately. Just do yourself a favor and keep your old Crusade Cards for all your units — you’ll need those for the process!
More Crusades Ahead
The first major Crusade supplement is also coming soon with the Tyrannic War book.
This supplement contains everything you need to play narrative battles in a sector rapidly being consumed by Tyranids. As well as the fundamental rules for Crusade campaigns and battles in the new edition, it contains a host of Battle Traits, Crusade Relics, Blessings, Agendas, and 15 missions themed around fighting a Tyrannic War – as well as two trees of unique upgrades that can overcharge your most powerful units in different ways, depending on whether they’re monsters… or those who hunt them.
While this Crusade book does feature the Space Marines and Tyranids on the cover any army will be able to use this book for your Crusades. The Galactic West is about to be a fresh new battleground with the new Tyranid Invasion and pretty much everyone is getting involved!
You can bet there will be even more Crusade supplements in the future as well as more narrative rules for each army in their codexes…when those start coming out at least. For now, carry on your Crusades from before into the new edition!
Time to convert your forces for the new edition!
