In honor of a big milestone Games Workshop has unveiled a brand new Deathleaper model and it’s looking quite fancy!

Games Workshop recently hit 500,000 Instagram followers which is no small feat. To celebrate they put all those eyes to good work in spotting a new model. The Deathleaper is coming!

This majestic specimen is the advanced Lictor bioform you know and love, upgraded for a new edition. As an EPIC HERO dedicated to the art of stabbing anything wandering into the shadows, Deathleaper is the Hive Fleet’s paramount terror weapon and a legend of lurking, inescapable dread the galaxy over.

Deathleaper Is A Fancy Lad

This is certainly quite the glow-up for the Deathleaper model. Aside from the very fancy tailcoat he’s now sporting the Deathleaper looks QUITE different than his current incarnation. For starters he’s got a mass of new tendrils coming from his maw now. Furthermore, there’s just so much more going on! I mean, compare the two for just a moment and the differences leap out at you.

The best part about this new model is that it’s very easy to tell that this isn’t just a Lictor — this is a very different Lictor! One of the gripes I had about the old model is that if it wasn’t for the crazy talons it looks pretty close to a regular Lictor. Now it’s going to be extremely hard to get those confused at first glance.

No that’s just a Lictor.

The original Deathleaper appeared during the Fall of Medusa V campaign in the halcyon days of 2006, after planetwide reports of a murderous ghost revealed the new Lictor bioform in all its horror. After a tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan picked the original up and absorbed its genetic material, new Deathleapers began to show themselves wherever the Hive Mind needed to sow pure, absolute terror.

This new model is a bit of a surprised and a welcome one at that. It’s such a new model that even the Deathleaper Datasheet has the old one pictured!

It’s a great new model and we’re looking forward to whatever else GW has planned for the new Tyranids coming.
