Age of Sigmar: Battlescroll Andtor Really Helped Out These Units
There’s one change in the new Warhammer: Age of Sigmar battlescroll that helped out a particular set of units. Look out for these!
Not everyone is thrilled with the changes in Battlescroll: Andtor. There were quite a few point shifts that stung for various armies. But keep in mind these points changes were due to the new General’s Handbook release and the fact that it’s going to be around for 12 months. We might see more points changes in the future (as we will with every Battlescroll update) but for now those are the points. But it wasn’t the points changes that got me the most excited. It was the change to unit coherency:
The Best Battlescroll Andtor Change
This is a huge boon for a bunch of units in the game that came in packs of three and could be reinforced up to six. Heck there’s even a few units that came in pairs and could be double reinforced up to six — this change is for ALL of these units and it’s great!
Sylvaneth Kurnoth Hunters
It’s particularly impactful for all those units that have 1″-2″ reach weapons and were on 50mm round bases or bigger. Or even some units with the larger “heavy cav” bases like the 75x42mm oval bases.
Slaves to Darkness Varanguard
As someone who’s a fan of these units this just makes playing them a whole lot less annoying. The main reason was because these units were handicapped by the old five model coherency limit. Getting all 6 models into combat required you to charge in a weird flower petal pattern that was “legal” but also quite fiddlely. It just ate up time trying to get the spacing exactly right and a lot of times the spikes or weapons would make positioning a chore.
Ossiarch Bonereaper Necropolis Stalkers
It was a lot worse for some units than others but this change just makes playing with these units a whole lot easier — especially if you were the one charging in!
Ironjaw Gore-gruntas
If you start to see more of these units on the tabletop or you start to see them but now reinforced you’ll know why. They just became a whole lot easier to use and that ease of use also makes them deadlier on the charge. Players won’t have to hold back one model just for unit coherency — they can toss all six of them in there with reckless abandon!
Stormcast Eternal Fulminators
This new season is going to shake things up. Get ready for a brand new meta.
The above units are just a few examples. If you’ve got a unit that was impacted by the change shout them out in the comments!
