Age of Sigmar: Freeguild Fusiliers Reveal – Bring On The Blackpowder
The forces of the Cities of Sigmar are mustering and we get our first look at the Freeguild Fusiliers. Take aim and fire!
The Dawnbringer Crusades have kicked off and the Cities of Sigmar are preparing to march to war. But what will mere mortals bring to battle against the monsters and magic of the Mortal Realms? They are packing some “magic” of their own with black powder weapons. Time to send in the Freeguild Fusiliers!
“Freeguild Fusiliers are not a type of corkscrew pasta from Azyr, they are the gunners of the Cities of Sigmar, hunkered down behind sturdy hardwood pavises. Disciplined and steely-eyed, these dutiful gunners can unleash up to three volleys within a minute at the command of a competent Fusil-sergeant.”
Freeguild Fusiliers
The Freeguild Fusiliers are equipped with primitive black powder firearms and pavises. They will dig in to a position and become a battlement from which they can rain their thunderous reports down on the enemy. Firing salvoes of shot into the enemy they know that one missed shot could be the difference between their survival and their own end.
“None of this would be possible without the dedication of the Blackpowder Squires. Slight and nimble, these runners never stop moving, providing fresh ammunition and powder to the Fusilier line, ensuring it performs at peak performance. A well-timed Resupply Run allows a unit to re-roll hit rolls once per battle, ensuring that only devastation and twitching corpses are left lying in the dirt before them.”
You can bet that this unit will be a key part of any Cities of Sigmar army. They will be able to support your other units at a distance and will be a bastion on the battlefield for your forces. But be warned: they aren’t exactly top-tier melee monsters. Those Pavises are handy for blocking retuning missile fire but not so great in close combat. Plus it’s a lot harder to reload your black powder weapon with the enemy on top of you.
Keep an eye out for more from the Cities of Sigmar. The Cities of Sigmar Army set will be the first chance to start a Dawnbringer Crusade force for them and there are plenty more units on the way!
So anyway I started blastin!
