Behind-the-Scenes Look at ‘The Marvels’ Gives Us a Peek at Cosmic Powers
Entertainment Weekly‘s new exclusive look at upcoming The Marvels shows new looks plus who really knows all the comic book factoids.
Marvel’s next big movie event will follow up on the stories of Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan and their cosmic powersets. Thanks to a trailer released back in April, plus the post-credits scene at the end of Ms. Marvel season one, we know that our three heroes have just swapped places, and shenanigans are about to ensue. We also know that Samuel L. Jackson will be very present as black-ops expert Nick Fury, begging the question “where exactly are we in the timeline?”
Oh, and Goose is there, too.
The Marvels Exclusive Behind-the-Scene Photos
Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, fans of the upcoming Marvel Studios film got another look at the film, which wrapped filming in May of last year. The photos reveal more detailed looks at costumes and our triad of superheroes, who on set were described in the interview as behaving like sisters.
And according to the interview, when it comes to all of the comic book facts, one cast member can always keep the rest of the crew in the know. Iman Vellani is a massive Marvel comics fan, and her costar Brie Larson tell Entertainment Weekly that she’s learned to “trust Iman”‘s knowledge of Marvel universe trivia.
The Marvels Synopsis & Cast
The movie sees the return of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan. Plus, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon. It’s directed by Nia DaCosta (Little Woods, Candyman) from a script she wrote with Megan McDonnell (WandaVision), Elissa Karasik (Loki), and Zeb Wells (She-Hulk).
Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. However, unintended consequences see her shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with two other superheroes to form the Marvels.
The Marvels blasts into theaters on November 10.
