The Tyranids are getting a bunch of new kits and first up are the little guys. These old classics have a new look!

As a Tyranid player myself there were quite a few kits I was hoping to see today. Some of these weren’t a big surprise but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited to see them get a new model. In fact I’m pretty glad to see these little bugs get some love from the design team.

New Termagants

Yep! The Termagants are getting a new, expanded kit. These are essentially addons to the ones from the Leviathan box. I had a feeling this might be the case. Regardless, you can see the new weapon options including: new Devourers, a Shardlauncher, a Strangleweb Launcher, and a Spike Rifle. Also mentioned were Spinefists but none of those were shown. Overall, these are some deep-cut nostalgic weapons from the Termagants. Essentially, these options give Tyranid Termagants “special weapons” to use now and I’m glad to see them make a return.

New Hormagaunts

While the Hormagaunts don’t appear to have any new fancy weapons they still have their trusty teeth and claws to bring to the tabletop. I love the new poses of them leaping and launching all over the place.

These are a different kit than the Termagants but I do wonder if you can mix and match the arms. You could with the previous kits for some interesting results.

New Genestealers

And finally, the Genestealers got a new box! These models are a great update to the iconic Tyranid unit. They are even more dynamic than before and have more elongated arms that previous designs. Also, there will be enough of the Ymgral heads so that you’ll be able to run a full squad of them if you so choose to. There’s a lot of cool details for these kits and also if you’re a Genestealer Cult player these will slot right into your Purestrain Genestealer units.
