The sequel has gone bigger – way bigger. A mining operation unleashes a new huge pre-historic creature under the waves, and it comes with friends that also enjoy humans as snacks. More monsters mean more ridiculous action, characters making bad choices, and goofy/satisfying kills.

Elevator Game – Shudder
“The story follows socially awkward teenager Ryan, who ingratiates himself into a group of recent high school graduates that run an online web series debunking urban legends to find his sister, who disappeared months earlier, probably while taking the dangerous challenge. Playing the game involves riding the elevator in a specific sequence to invoke a supernatural creature called ‘The 5th Floor Woman.’”
Last Voyage of the Demeter – Theaters August 11th
The movie uses the chapter “The Captain’s Log” of Bram Stoker’s Dracula as a jumping-off point. It tells the story of the Russian schooner, Demeter, chartered to carry private cargo from Carpathia to London–twenty-four wooden crates filled with experimental earth.
Plus, something much more sinister. It follows the doomed crew as they attempt to survive a mysterious and terrifying creature stalking the ship every night. When the Demeter finally arrives at Whity Harbour, the crew is nowhere to be found.

Babylon 5: The Road Home – Digital/Blu-ray August 15th
It seems enough time has passed between the end of the live-action show and the animated movie that humanity sees the creation as the beginning – and continues to progress. But that next step doesn’t go as planned. After an accident, John Sheridan is whipped through multiple timelines and alternate realities. He must find his way back to Babylon 5.
Oldboy – Theaters August 16th
Oldboy returns to theaters for the first time in over a decade. It tells the story of a man that finds himself held captive after a night of drinking. He spends 15 monotonous years in a single room. The journey to truth and revenge is filled with perverse twists and shocking violence.

“When she adopts an adorable sloth, she realizes the animal can serve as the house’s new mascot and help her win votes, dubbing the animal Alpha. The new pet is a beloved addition to the sorority house until a series of deaths point toward the sloth as the prime murder suspect. The film becomes a survival story of sisters versus sloth as the girls wonder if they can make it out of Sigma Lambda Theta alive (sloths, of course, are not known for being fleet of foot).”
