Go Bug-Nuts With New LEGO Insect Collection
Build a beautiful butterfly, mighty beetle, and a sly mantis with the new LEGO insect collection for grown-up builders.
The set comes with a nature-inspired ASMR playlist with the clicks and sounds created when building with LEGO reimagined as the sounds of the insects in the set.
“Created in partnership with award winning and Emmy-nominated Foley artist, Sanaa Kelley, an expert in creating sound effects out of everyday items, Sanaa has recreated each insect’s own unique sounds in nature using the iconic LEGO brick. Showcasing their beauty and shining a new light on insects around the world, the playlist is inspired by the three extraordinary insects from the new set”
Each track is around 45 minutes long and uses everything from clicking bricks together to opening and crunching the plastic bags the bricks come in and rumpling instruction books. Plus, variety of Foley techniques.
LEGO IDEAS: The Insect Collection
The collection includes five species from across the globe. The blue morpho butterfly has adjustable wings decorated in shades of blue, perched upon a buildable flower with a miniature honeybee for scale.
The Hercules beetle is propped on some LEGO brick wood to represent its favorite food. Its wings can be positioned open or closed. And the Chinese mantis has articulated forelegs and a seven-spotted ladybug that’s hoping it won’t become food.
Once built, the trio is perfect for display nearly anywhere.
The set will be available on September 7th for $79.99. You can listen to the Green Noise tracks now by going here and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Details:
