LEGO’s new Concorde set recreates the iconic aircraft known for its ability to travel faster than a bullet.

The Concorde is one of the most iconic aircraft in history. It was designed as a joint venture between the United Kingdom and France and was engineered to cruise twice as fast as the speed of sound. The plane was the first supersonic passenger-carrying commercial aircraft. It could get its get passengers across the Atlantic, from New York City to London, in less the four hours.

The aircraft was in use from 1977 to 2003 when it became too expensive to keep them operational. You can visit several out-of-commission crafts at air space museums around the globe. The Concorde may be out of commission, but that doesn’t mean supersonic travel is dead. The next generation, like Boom’s Overture, is on the way and they promise to be even better.

LEGO Icons: Concorde

Welcome aboard the Concorde. Recreate a detailed replica of the world’s most famous supersonic commercial passenger airplane with an immersive project that takes creativity to new heights.

This 2083-piece set recreates the Concorde passenger jet down to its tilting nose and visor. The 41.5-inch-long model also has delta wings with movable elevons and hinged upper and lower rudders. All of this is accomplished using Technic components that offer a hybrid building experience.

Pop open the roof to reveal an interior with a seating area complete with storage towers and toilets – sorry, it’s not a minifig scale. The set includes a brick-built stand that displays basic information on the Concorde for easy in-flight display.

It’s the best aviation set LEGO has to offer.

  • 2083 pieces
  • Flight stand included
  • 6 in. (15 cm) Length: 41.5 in. (105 cm) long. Width: 17 in. (43 cm)

I don’t suggest trying to throw it like a paper airplane off of somewhere high up, but I would not judge anyone who hoists this on their shoulder and makes jet plane noises while flying it around their living room. LEGO engineered it. It’s stable.
