Pathfinder’s ‘Rage of Elements’ – For the Planeteers in Your Party
Pathfinder: Rage of Elements provides the Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water, all you have to bring is heart. Check out the splat book!
Hoping to expand your games of Pathfinder 2E? The relatively recent Rage of Elements promises the power of fundamental forces in the palm of your hands. Though, as you might expect, it features the same four elements we’ve thought about since the Greeks, these aren’t the only ones present. Rage of Elements also adds two more: Metal and Wood, to the mix. Both get their own elemental plane write-up and everything.
But, even within the familiar confines of Earth, Wind, and Fire (and also Water), Paizo treads new ground. With a whole new class, the Kineticist, and new spells and character feats, there’s plenty for anyone looking to add a touch of the elements to their character.
Rage of Elements is out now at your FLGS or available online from Paizo.
Pathfinder: Rage of Elements
Harness the overwhelming power of the most primordial forces of nature with Rage of Elements, a new 224-page rules resource for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game focused on the fundamental building blocks of reality itself!
The elements are yours to control with the all-new kineticist class, which brings one of fantasy’s most popular hero types to Pathfinder. New elemental spells and gear provide tons of additional element-themed options for all character classes, and an extensive gazetteer provides an overview of the majestic elemental planes—including two new ones: the decaying Plane of Metal and the vast and orderly forests of the Plane of Wood. A meaty bestiary presenting scores of element-themed creatures helps to populate these alien landcapes—and liven up even the drabbest Material Plane dungeon!
The gateways to elemental power stand open wide with Pathfinder Rage of Elements!
The biggest new feature in the book is the Kineticist. This is a whole new class dedicated to channeling the power of the elements via a “kinetic gate, inextricably tied to your body”. It’s the Avatar/Bender class you didn’t know you were looking for in Pathfinder 2E.
Right out of the gate at 1st level, the Kineticist has quite the punch. You pick an element (or two) at 1st level. Right away you gain the ability to call upon elemental powers using your gate. A single gate focuses you in one direction but grants you extra abilities. Meanwhile, a dual gate lets you just use two sets of powers.
Many of the powers are untyped; the Elemental Blast, which is the core attack power of the class, is interesting because you can take it as a single-action or two-action attack (the two-action version does more damage), and it’s Ranged or Melee, depending on what you choose.
There are plenty of other powers to play around with. They offer a variety of combat and utility options, including things like catching yourself on an air cushion, to creating a burning jet of flame that propels you forward and ignores reaction attacks.
