‘Sharknado’ Headed to Theaters: Grab Your Chainsaws for 10th Anniversary
Celebrate a decade of Sharknado by seeing Fin and April battle the original vortex of deadly sharks on the big screen.
It’s really been ten years–the original Sharknado was released in 2013. Audiences turned the made-for-TV movie’s over-the-top ridiculousness into a bonafide hit for SyFy, so they made six more. They all star Ian Ziering as the Carcharodon fighting Fin Shepard and Tara Reid as badass April Wexler. Each movie attempts to one-up the last and includes a bunch of guest stars like Billy Ray Cyrus and Chris Kattan.
If you’ve ever wanted to see a bunch of CG sharks eating people while doing outlandish things like residing in a tornado, popping out of manholes, riding the subway, attacking helicopters, swimming in space, and more – this is your franchise.
Your chance to see the original tornado of sharks in a theater is here. The studio behind the re-release is promising new scenes with never before seen kills and action.
In case you’ve forgotten or haven’t had the joy of watching it, the first Sharknado is caused by a freak hurricane that swamps Los Angeles. Two heroes emerge as thousands of the sea’s deadliest killer fish are sucked into a vortex that terrorizes the waterlogged city. It’s no Sharknado 2, but it’s still a good time.
Sharknado on the Big Screen
The movie is the brainchild of director Anthony C. Ferrante and writer Thunder Levin. It stars Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, and John Heard, among others. Plus a bunch of CG sharks.
