A witchy new teaser for Total War: Warhammer 3 has us dreaming of Kislev, witches, and terrifying huts on chicken legs.

A rare Sunday teaser from Creative Assembly shows off some creepy new video from, presumably, the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 3 DLC. Asking the question, who lurks within the woods, we get a look at the eerie, forboding menace of a creepy tree in the midst of a poorly-lit copse.

It’s anyone’s guess as to what this teases. After all, the factions of the Old World are full of peoples who have a fondness for spooky trees. Take a look.

New Total War: Warhammer 3 Teaser Shows Off Spooky, Witchy Woods

First of all, here’s the tweet (is it xeet now?) that may well send you running from the room:

Just over ten seconds of groaning, creaking woods and an aura of menace that builds to an all too abrupt end and musical sting. Now, spooky trees, as mentioned, have a big place in the Old World already.

From Wood Elves (many of whom are spooky trees) to Chaos, who love to twist spooky trees into mockeries of life. Just ask Papa Nurgle about his favorite kinds of trees. But the point is, there could be just about anyone lurking in these woods.

Of course, given how dark and spooky it is, there’s just two words that spring immediately to mind, riding on the back of a chicken-legged hut and grinding who knows what in a magical mortar and pestle—none other than Baba Yaga.

And in the world of Warhammer, the most direct analogue is Mother Ostankya.

Mother Ostankya previously existed as an Ungol Hag Mother, who made her home in the Duklys Forest where she was either a boogeyman to children, or a fearsome, even terrifying, protector of the Motherland.

Either way, it certainly seems like there are Witches in these Woods.

With a teaser on a Sunday, it’s probably only a matter of days before we get the official announcement, so stay tuned!
