Warhammer 40K Next Week: How About Those Tyranids
Get your flamers ready, the Hive mind has arrived with the “first codex” of the new edition, no less. Pre-order Tyranids next week!
We are all just bio-mass waiting to become bug. And, really, when you think about it in AD 2023, becoming bug sounds pretty good. Soon, you’ll be able to practice that very thing. Because as part of next week’s pre-orders, you’ll be able to snag the new Tyranid Codex.
Along with a Hive Fleet of new minis for old favorites, new rules to play around with, and just bigger, better bugs. That’s the hope, anyway. Time, actual play, and a whole lot of arguing on the internet, will tell if they’re actually better.
Tyranids Come Swarming In
Bugs are a feature of next week’s pre-orders. And the biggest feature of all is Codex: Tyranids. This is the first full-on Codex of the new edition, and it comes with everything you need to turn the galaxy into processable bio-mass, including datasheets for 47 Tyranid units, six different Detachments (each with a unique ability), new rules, Enhancements, and Stratagems galore.
But, what Tyranid players will really love is the new miniatures. This is something ‘Nid players have been hungering for for a long time. Well here we are.
Leading the Hive is the Norn Emissary. These are the “more personal touch” of the Hive Mind. They are powerfully strong both physically and mentally, boasting psionic power capable of devastating any who would oppose the will of the Hive.
This kit can also be built as a Norn Assimilator, which trades in psionic powers for the ability to deal even more damage.
Also just look at the fresh new sculpt of Deathleaper. The hooks, the claws, the tendrils—what an absolute apex predator.
Lictors get a gorgeous new mini as well, and let’s not overlook their brainier new cousins, the Neurolictors.
Genestealers got a makeover, as you’ve no doubt seen, and now they’re here with sexy new details and a full complement of Ymgarl Genestealer heads.
The new Termagants from Leviathan are available on their own, this time with a Ripper Swarm and bonus sprue of special weapons, so you can kit them out the way you want.
New Hormagaunts as well..
You can bring out the big guns.
Well. Big gun, with the new Biovore, which can blast Spore Mines all over everything, or can be built as Pyrovores.
And if you’re not sure what to start with, why not try the Combat Patrol: Tyranids box, which comes with a Winged Tyranid Prime, 20 Termagants, 5 Barbgaunts, 3 Von Ryan’s Leapers, 2 Ripper Swarms, and a Psychophage which may or may not be in a pear tree.
All this, next week!
