You Can Watch the Start of ‘The Wheel of Time’ Season 2 Right Now

Prime Video is giving us an early peak at the start of Season 2 of The Wheel of Time — you just have to know where to find it.

Fans and haters of Prime Video’s The Wheel of Time have been waiting nearly two years for the show to continue. After a somewhat rocky first season, Prime went pretty quiet about the show. While we knew a second, and then a third, season was coming, that was all the news we got.

But recently we’ve gotten a lot more info. Now we are only a month out from the Premier and we can finally watch the start of The Wheel of Time season 2 right now.

Season 2 of The Wheel of Time is set to come out on September 1st, 2023. It will be getting a weekly release on Prime Video. However, you can watch some of it now. Prime Video has decided to make the first scene available to stream now.

It can be a bit tricky to find. You won’t find it in the Season 2 section at all. Instead, it’s attached to the end of the final episode of season 1. So yeah, you might have to watch a bit of that episode.

Why is Prime Doing This?

You ever read a book? No? Well, same.

Joking aside if you have ever finished a book and found an excerpt from the next book at the end, then that’s what Prime is doing. Robert Jordan was famous for doing this with The Wheel of Time books. In addition a few, sometimes very long prologues were released ahead of the main book to give a hint and catch people up.

Prime is playing this teaser as a nod to this old style of marketing and as a homage to the books. And I think that’s just fine. It’s a nice teaser and does fit in with how the books were released. Prime should know, Amazon has sold one or two books in its day.

A Peek at Season 2

I won’t go into details about the scene to avoid spoilers. It does appear to be heavily based on the Prologue to the second book in the series, The Great Hunt. This tracks as season 2 is adapting that book and book 3. The scene won’t give away a whole ton and is a nice bit of a teaser for the upcoming season. You can check it out now or wait for the full release on September 1st.

Giving the Show a Second Chance

Not everyone liked season 1 of The Wheel of Time. If you chose to give season 2 a shot, that’s up to you, and if you don’t, that’s also fine. If you are on the fence you might want to watch this scene just to get an idea of the season and if things are changing at all. And of course, you can watch the start of The Wheel of Time season 2 right now. It could be a good way to gauge if it’s worth your time. Prime Video is almost certainly hoping it will draw you in.
