Age of Sigmar: Orruk Warclans Vanguard Pricing Breakdown
With the new Vanguard: Orruk Warclans box coming this weekend we’re wondering if this one is worth the price of admission.
The new Vanguard: Orruk Warclans box is coming and we got a look at the contents as well as the price point already. For $140 it’s in line with the other Vanguard boxed sets. But this one feels a little off. Let’s take a closer look at the price and why.
Vanguard: Orruk Warclans
Killaboss on a Great Gnashtoof = Not available individually
Murknob = Not available individually
10x Gutrippaz = $60
3x Man-skewer Boltboyz = $55
Beast-skewer Killbow = $35
Total Individual Price = $150 + ???
Savings vs Individual MSRP = $10 + ???
Obviously we’ve got some pricing issues here with two of the important models in the boxed set only being part of these sorts of bundles. We could approximate those models costs with similar options to estimate the price points. The Killaboss on Great Gnashtoof would probably be in the $50-$60 range while the Murknob would likely be the same as other characters ($35-$45). Even if we go with the low end of those estimates you’re probably saving around $85-$95 on this box.
But this one still feels off. Why is that? Because the best deal is actually Age of Sigmar: Dominion.
As reader Emperor’s Will pointed out in our comments section you can actually still snag the Dominion box off Amazon at a steep discount. You might also be able to score this one from your FLGS if you’re lucky. If you do manage to find Dominion on sale (or even at its original price point of $199) it’s still a massive deal. The catch, of course, is you might not want 1/2 of those models. But you can always split it with a buddy for even more savings!
That said if you just want to snag this new Vanguard box because it’s got exactly what you want in it go for it. You’re technically still getting a discount vs full retail price anyhow.
Why isn’t this just Vanguard: Kruleboyz? Either way, it’s up for pre-order this weekend.
