D&D: WotC Releases Magic the Gathering Crossover Compendium – Add the Honkening to Your Game
There is a brand new Monstrous Compendium out for D&D right now. It crosses over Magic: the Gathering, bringing Wilds of Eldraine to you.
Magic and D&D go hand in hand like a money-printing machine and a money-printing licensed IP universe. And with Magic: the Gathering making a big splash with its Wilds of Eldraine set, it’s little wonder that they’d bring it over to D&D. The faerie tale whimsy of Eldraine lends itself extremely well to the whimsical fantasy fun of D&D.
Now you can add monsters like the Goose Mother, pictured at the head of this article, and more to your next encounter. Have you ever wondered how your favorite Eldraine critter might translate into a stat block? Well, now you can find out. Although. Unlike other Monstrous Compendiums, this one isn’t free.
Monstrous Compendium Volume Four: Eldraine Creatures will run you $5.99. But you will get 25 new monsters for your trouble. That’s about 24 cents a monster if you’re doing the math.

The compendium introduces a new class of monster called the High Fey, which are creatures that roll in at the CR 11-13 range, making them perfect for those mid-tier encounters if you want something spooky, or as good minions when you get to the upper levels of the game.
You’ll find other classic Magic monsters here, including the Beanstalk Wurm, which can sprout beanstalks up around it and swallow you whole, or help you get to the clouds.
The Tempest Hart is an elemental stag, while the Archon of Boundaries is a celestial, but decidedly not an Angel.
You’ll find humanoid NPC statblocks as well. The Dunbarrow Witch, for instance, or the Deathless Rider. And of course the Goose Mother. You can unlock it all on D&D Beyond.
