Age of Sigmar: Who’s Getting A Dawnbringer Box Next?
Games Workshop is rolling out a bunch of Dawnbringer boxed sets for Armies of Renown. But who’s next?
So far we’ve seen quite a few boxed set tie-ins for the Dawnbringers book series. We had the first four boxes as part of the Harbingers and then we saw the Reign of the Brute bring in some for the Troggs, too.
We’ve also seen various rules updates for other armies within those books. Like the King Brodd’s Stomp and the Grundstok Expeditionary Force. That said, it seems like GW is leaving us clues as to what armies are going to get updates and boxed sets with the Dawnbringers Stories.
If you’ve been paying attention and reading along the clues are right there in the mix. This image can be seen at the bottom of every one of these Dawnbringer Tales on WarCom. And funny enough, most of them line up with what we’ve seen so far.
The one that stands out to me is the Drycha story. We already got the Drycha Hamadreth boxed set when Broken Realms was out. And the Wrath of the Forest featured her and other Sylvaneth forces fighting some humans and Gargants.
This makes me wonder though — is she going to get another boxed set or will we see some other Sylvaneth set? Furthermore, who else is missing from this list? Each Grand Alliance has been represented and there’s been a heavy focus on the Destruction faction. That makes sense with all the releases. However, both Death and Chaos have each only gotten one “release” for this event.
Where are the rest of the Chaos factions in this story line? You can’t tell me that all these Dawnbringers haven’t raised the ire of Chaos. Who’s lands do you think they are liberating? Obviously Destruction is pushing stuff around, too. But Archaon and his crew can’t be idle and the rest of the Chaos forces have to be scheming — not just Papa Nurgle.
And what of the Death Grand Alliance? I know the Flesh-eater Courts made a brief appearance at the start. However, where there is war there is death. And death leaves bodies around…I doubt that Nagash wants to leave those bones to waste away.
I think the Dawnbringer Crusades are building up to the next chapter in Age of Sigmar. And there are quite a few major players we haven’t heard from. What about the Stormcast Eternals? What’s their role in all of this been? Just sitting back silently watching as mortal humans expand their territory out? Kind of makes me wonder if we’re going to see a box from them, too.
