Horus Heresy: Dreadnought Drop Pods Coming To Legions Imperialis
The Dreadnoughts are getting their own ride down from space with new Drop Pod options. But these pods aren’t just deploying Dreadnoughts…
When Legions Imperialis finally arrives it’s going to have quite the selection of miniature to choose from when you’re building your army. Games Workshop has confirmed that more Drop Pods are on the way and these are the larger versions for Dreadnoughts and shield generators, too!
“Dreadnought Drop Pods shuttle your Contemptors, Leviathans, and Deredeos right where you need them. They can carry one Dreadnought – snugly in the case of the bulky Leviathan – allowing them to deep strike ahead of your main force, and take advantage of the enemy’s weakest flank.
This kit also builds Legion Palisade Drop Pods. Rather than housing infantry or walkers, these contain powerful shield generators that project an energy forcefield, protecting accompanying drop pods and their contents from enemy fire.”
Drop Pods For Dreadnoughts
Again, we got to see Drop Pods for squads already. Now the Dreadnoughts are getting their own rides. This kit used to be a Forge World option for the Heresy-Era and now it’s getting the plastic treatment with Legions Imperialis.
If you’re planning on packing some Dreadnoughts in your list you’ll be glad to know that these Drop Pods will come in a box of four. Considering how the boxed sets for Dreadnoughts are coming packaged, that’s a good ratio. You’ll likely want two boxes for eight pods total — but at least you’re not going to end up with a random extra pod or Dreadnought without a ride.
I also like the option for the Legion Palisade Drop Pod, too. That’s a nice tactical option you can try out if you don’t want to run Dreadnoughts. Having options seems good in a game like Legions Imperialis.
We’re all still waiting for this one to hit stores. But when it does eventually drop it’s going to have a LOT of kits to pick-up!
