The Skalvian Explorators are one of the three new kits coming to reinforce the Ironhead Squat Prospectors in the Ash Wastes of Necromunda.

Games Workshop is adding in some supporting units for the Ironhead Squad Prospectors. They are getting a massive new vehicle and a pair of Squat characters, too!

Skalvian Explorator

“These are the Skalvian Explorators, the workhorses of the Squat holds. They are hard to crack – nearly impervious to small-arms fire with its Toughness of 7, which is ramped up to a formidable 9 against shots to the front – and relatively rapid with a 6” Move. “

This is a massive new kit on par with the Cargo-8 Ridgehauler scale. The tracked behemoths give the Squat Prospectors a fighting chance in the dunes of the Ash Wastes. They are perfect for hauling their big scores into town for a quick buck or for taking on other vehicles as the road rages around them!

Equipped with an Ironhead Claw as well as other weapons this is one tractor-trailer you’re going to have tough time taking down.

New Squat Characters

Orrin Grimjarl

Orrin is one of two of the last survivors of Jardlan. His story will be in the upcoming third book for the Aranthain Succession. Game-wise, he’ll count as a House Agent and is packing some serious firepower! He’s got a scary looking fractal pulse beamer, a suped-up inferno pistol and also a Techmite Exovator. Hey, sometimes you just need an extra set of hands…or wheels in this case.

Urson Grimjarl

Urson Grimjarl is the younger brother of the two. He’ll be coming to the game as a Bounty Hunter character with a powerful longshot hunting rifle. How powerful? Well it does 2 damage per hit at Strength 5 and has Rapid Fire (1) and Rending, too! So in terms of taking out your standard Ganger it should be more than able to do just that. He’s also got a Techmite Occuli as his little buddy which is an extra set of eyes (or sensors, really) for Urson to tap into.

All of these kits are going to be coming from Forge World soon. That does mean they will be resin. While I’m not surprised the two characters are resin, as they are from Forge World, I was hoping the Transport would be a new plastic kit. I’m a little bummed by that news. Oh well. At least the Squats are getting some sweet new kits!

What do you think of this trio of releases from Forge World?
