LEGO Viking Village Set – Nordic Adventure Awaits Builders
This IDEAS set lets you build and explore a LEGO Viking Village with a smithy, longhouse, and more.
This set was voted into production via the LEGO IDEAS program. Creator BrickHammer entered the design in 2020; when it wasn’t accepted, he updated it and resubmitted it last year. His perseverance paid off, and the set won a special fan vote.
He explained the inspiration for the design…
“Even though the ‘Viking Village’ does not try to depict a realistic historic Viking village (e.g. I chose to include the 100% imaginary helmets with horns) the idea for the project was actually sparked by my own studies at university. One of the main topics of one of my final exams was the Norman conquest of 1066 and the influence it had on Anglo-Saxon society. As a result of reading several books about Norman (French) culture and its origins in Danish Viking culture, I just had to create a Viking MOC.”
LEGO Viking Village
Build a Viking village with plenty of places to explore. The set has three connectible sections. Explore a blacksmith’s smithy where weapons and shields are forged and the chieftain’s longhouse complete with throne and dining hall. Build a bridge to a watchtower and cave.
Four minifigs are included–a blacksmith, chieftain, shield-maiden, and an archer. Each comes with weapons and accessory elements, including multiple shields, a paintbrush, a hammer, a sword, a spear, a goblet, and a bow and arrow.
Other features include a blacksmith’s forge with a flame-billowing function, shields printed with Odin’s 2 ravens and 2 wolves, the chieftain’s throne, a bridge to the watchtower, and a cave for mineral mining. For long-time fans, there are brick-built references to other classic LEGO Vikings sets in the set.
