Critical Role’s ongoing horror anthology series, Candela Obscura, premieres its third installment, Circle of Tide & Bone this month. The latest trailer just dropped.

Critical Role just unveiled the trailer for the third part of their ongoing gothic horror series, Candela Obscura, which conveniently enough, showcases the Critical Role-produced RPG of the same name (coming out November 14th, by the way). Set in a world that evokes the turn of the century/20s while still being its own thing, Candela Obscura follows the adventures of members of a secret society dedicated to figuring out and thwarting eldritch gribblies.

You know the drill. A bunch of “olde timey folke” get swept up in all things occult and sinister, as they try and keep the world safe from whatever wicked machinations are swirling about this week. It’s good, pulpy fun. And if you’ve missed the first two installments of the series, you can find them on Critical Role’s YouTube.

Candela Obscura – Circle of Tide & Bone

“Check out the official trailer for the new chapter of Candela Obscura: The Circle of Tide & Bone! The fight against the otherworldly evils plaguing the Fairelands shall continue with a new three episode chapter that includes a new circle, a new gamemaster, and a whole new set of magickal foes. This chapter of Candela Obscura will include investigators Gina Darling, Sam Riegel, Noshir Dalal, Liam O’Brien, and Ashly Burch, alongside our Gamemaster, Aabria Iyengar.

The second episode will air January 4th, and the final episode on January 25th, both live-streamed at 7pm Pacific only on Twitch and YouTube. The YouTube VOD will be available the following Monday after the episode’s initial broadcast and the podcast version will be available one week following the initial broadcast on your favorite podcast streaming service.”

“Candela Obscura is an ongoing horror drama that follows an esoteric order of investigators as they use centuries of knowledge to fight back a mysterious source of corruption and bleed. Leveraging improv and gaming as story mechanics, the series features the Candela Obscura tabletop roleplaying game from Darrington Press, which is built on the Illuminated Worlds system.

With Aabria Iyengar in the GM’s seat, this is sure to be an exciting, fae-fueled romp through the Fairelands. Get ready for intrigue and probably a good bit of horniness and a whole lot of stylish costumes.
