Marvel’s ‘Echo’ Brings Back the Netflix Shows’ Hard-Hitting Action
Maya Lopez’s story is finally making it to the screen early next year. Check out the action-filled first trailer for Marvel’s Echo.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Maya Lopez, aka Echo, or gotten news about her solo series. The tough fighter was introduced to the MCU in Hawkeye. The deaf amputee and member of the Cheyenne Nation is the adopted daughter of Kingpin. She’s played by the fantastic Alaqua Cox. She stole every scene she was in.
Maya’s next chapter will follow her as she leaves New York for her hometown to reconnect with her Indigenous roots and mourn her beloved uncle, William Lopez. But she’s not alone. She’s followed by one of Kingpin’s goons who is out for revenge at the behest of the crime boss.
Marvel’s Echo was announced back in 2021, soon after Hawkeye wrapped. Since then, it’s been a bit all over the place, much to the disappointment of fans. But no more – the series finally has a solid release date after being pulled off the 2023 schedule.
First Trailer
The first look details Maya’s connection with Kingpin and her journey to reclaim what she’s lost. This looks more like a Netflix Marvel series than what we’ve seen on Disney+ so far. It’s hard-hitting, action-packed, and not afraid of complex issues.
Marvel’s Echo Cast & Details
The cast includes Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene. Alaqua Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Zahn McClarnon are reprising their roles.
“The five-episode streaming event spotlights Maya Lopez as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy. All five episodes will stream on Jan. 10 on both platforms. They’ll be available on Hulu until April 9. This marks the first Marvel Studios series to drop all entirely bingeable episodes at once.”
Echo premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on January 10th.
