Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon isn’t done with you yet, 621. A new update brings more parts and ranked matchmaking to Rubicon.

As fans of FromSoft games and, in particular, the Armored Core series will tell you, once you’ve beaten the game two or three times, there are only a few peaks left to climb. Once you’ve unlocked all the weapons, once you’ve found all the secrets, like Alexander looking at the breadth of his domain, you’ll weep, for there are no more worlds to conquer.

Fret not because unlike Hans Gruber, you’re not robbing the vault in Nakatomi Plaza. You’re playing a video game, and they get updated. And Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon‘s new update, which drops tomorrow, adds new parts, new maps, and most of all, Ranked Matchmaking to the game of fast and furious mech combat.

Armored Core 6 Patch 1.05 – How Long Before You Hit S Rank

Dominate in ranked online matchmaking and ascend the leaderboard in ARMORED CORE VI FIRES OF RUBICON! Patch 1.05 releases 12/19 — Get ready, Ravens

  • Battle other players in ranked online matchmaking
  • Carve your name into the ranked leaderboard
  • Enhance your AC loadout with new parts
  • Take the fight to new places with new PVP maps
  • Personalize your nameplate to make your mark on the battlefield

Armored Core 6 Patch 1.05 adds yet another, even larger peak to the game. Because as FromSoft fans know, multiplayer is one of the few places that you can keep exploring and honing. Nothing is as satisfying as finding the right combination of build and playstyle that allows you to defeat the people who are trying to replace skill with cheese.

In Elden Ring, it was counters for Rivers of Blood, which was shockingly maidenless behavior. In AC6, til now, it’s been countering Zimmerman spam. It’s the sign of both a healthy meta and player skill when there’s a diverse mix of builds.

And now, Ranked Matchmaking will soon mean that you get to test your skill against other people who have maybe fought their way up. It all sounds extremely sweaty, but if that’s what you’re looking for, it’ll be an extremely good and/or frustrating time.

Alongside that are new Armored Core parts. A leak earlier this month from a strategy guide maker that has yet to be made official revealed what some of the new parts may be. They include:

  • New heavy machine gun (arm unit)
  • Pulse missile launcher (arm unit)
  • Gatling cannon (shoulder unit)
  • Laser cannon (shoulder unit)

And a new core series, the Lammergeier, which comes with a head, core, arms, and legs. All of this will soon be confirmed (or denied) as the patch releases tomorrow!

Get ready, Ravens. See you in S Rank.
