The Advent Engine is back and this time we’re being told to “Buckle-up, twice.” Or something like that.

I’ve been told to never trust a man who where’s both a belt and suspenders. If they can’t trust their pants how can you trust them? Seems like sound logic. We might be in a similar situation based on this new image…

Welcome to the Advent Engine! It’s that special time of year when Games Workshop’s teaser department kicks into overdrive and we get the Advent Engine every day for (almost) a month! We’ve got two buckles that are going to make you want to pick your brain with this image. Let’s dive in!

“Strap yourself in – the Advent Engine has given us another glimpse of the future and we’re sure you can draw out what it is if you try hard enough. “

Advent Engine  ‘Double Buckle-Up

Based on the text and the image this is clearly a sword sheath. Or is it a scabbard? Apparently, if it’s for a sword and it’s rigid then it’s a scabbard. It’s kinda hard to tell. However, that does explain the two buckles as those are connection points for the leather. Likely, those lead off to another belt or strap on the wearer.

The mystery is solved. We can all go home, right? Oh wait, we still don’t know WHO this belongs to. The REAL mystery is just begining.

My gut tells me that this is human-crafted. And those buckles seem like something the Cities of Sigmar would have. Then again, the scale is hard to tell from the image.

I could also see this being a part of a Space Marine’s kit. The Dark Angels are coming soon and they aren’t shy about their love of plasma. Or swords.

I would have suggested the Bretonnians as well…however, I’m pretty sure GW said they showed off that range in their entirety. At least for the Old World release. Perhaps there’s more in the works?

I’m less worried about a sheath or a scabbard and more worried about who’s going to poke someone with the contents…
