Games Workshop: Advent Engine Day 2 – ‘Now That’s A Purity Seal’
The Games Workshop Advent Engine is keeping the teasers coming. Today’s preview has one heck of a purity seal.
It’s that special time of year when Games Workshop’s teaser department kicks into overdrive and we get the Advent Engine. It’s Day 2 of this event and the previews are already getting us on the hype train. And speaking of crazy rides it looks like today’s teaser is down for some hijinx for sure.
“Looks like someone took huddling around the fire for winter warmth a touch too far in today’s Advent Engine image. Admittedly, there may have been other causes of their untimely demise – we’re sure all will become clear in time.”
Now That’s A Purity Seal
So what are we looking at today? Well, we’ve got the remains of a skeleton. There’s also a fire burning beneath it. Are those regular flames or spectral fires? At this time it’s a little unclear. However, there’s also a large purity seal and it’s in the shape of an “X” or cross. I’m thinking an X because of the way the ribbons are flowing off of it. Additionally, the skull has a pretty large chunk missing. I’m assuming that might have been the original cause of death here…
Now the question is: who’s carrying this to battle? I’m guessing this is either a trophy or a relic of some type. I lean more towards relic because the types of factions that take trophies don’t put purity seals on things.
I could see this as a bit for the Black Templar. They like flames and have been known to take skeletal relics into battle. Plus, the purity seal fits their motif as well. But other Space Marines have access to the same things and could equally be as fanatical about a relic. Heck, it could also be a crazy one-off for something like the Legion of the Damned. That would actually be pretty rad!
Conversely, on the AoS side of the house, the Cities of Sigmar army is still relatively fresh and they also have a thing for relics like mounted skeletons. I wouldn’t rule them out either.
In anycase, this is a cool looking preview and we’re just going to have to wait to see what it turns into.
