Games Workshop: Advent Engine Day 5 – ‘Branching Out’
It’s Advent Engine time and Day 5 is here! It looks like this time around it’s branching out into new territory.
Okay, maybe it’s not entirely ‘new’ territory as this is still teasing a new model. But at least it IS new!
Welcome to the Advent Engine! It’s that special time of year when Games Workshop’s teaser department kicks into overdrive and we get the Advent Engine every day for (almost) a month! Today we’ve got a new teaser preview and it’s certainly something…

Advent Engine – ‘Branching Out’
I think (based on the text at least) this is probably a newly budding tree of some type. Either that or a stick in the mud. It wouldn’t be the first time that GW rotated an image to mess with us! That said, if this is a tree branch with some fresh buds on it, then that means new life. What faction could possibly be associated with new life?
Oh. Right. Could this be a Sylvaneth? I would make the most sense being a tree and all.
However, I’m no botanist or master of dendrology — so forgive me if I’m mixing up my trees here. But, for some reason, I associate Sylvaneth with Oak trees and those DO bud. A quick google search will show off what those look like. And while they are similar to the image above, they aren’t 100% exact. But that could just be some artistic license there. Also, these are magic trees so /shrug — who knows what they would look like in the “bud” stage.
This doesn’t scream “Oak” to me either…
In anycase, they aren’t the only tree faction out there. And perhaps those are antlers instead of a tree branch. I’ve never seen antlers look like that but, again, magic right? Perhaps it’s infected?
I’m just not going to rule that out. In the meantime, if you’ve got any clues or guesses drop us a line in the comments with those ideas, too!
