Goatboy’s Grimdark Armylist – Necron Canoptek Court & Friends

Goatboy here with a new 40K 10th Edition Necron list using the Canoptek Court detachment from the new Codex.

The Canoptek Court is for sure one of the most powerful options in the new Necron codex, with the whole idea of controlling the battlefield and empowering your Canoptek friends. I love these styles of detachments as they push a play style that isn’t just “crush” your enemy with math and instead forces you to pay attention and control objectives.

Right now, this style of list seems well set up to control and win the game. The wave of bodies backed up by powerful shooting can help force the opponent toward their zone and away from the death fields that usually surround objectives. The Wraiths can push up, be sacrificed, and help ensure your plan of mechanical domination works out in the end. The single Warrior blob is just there as a central piece to help build your tentacles of doom as they move in and out.

Using the Necron Cryptek Army

As you can see, the army is designed with some central Warriors, the Wraiths are moving out, and you have a nice just middle to hopefully take out your opponent with lethal hits and super lasers. It isn’t designed to invest as much killing into the Wraiths, but at the very least, they can move up, get in the way, and hopefully slow down the incoming pressure the armies we see now. It also is just full of Crypteks doing weird science stuff.
