How the Grinch Stole this Closet Cosplay
He’s a mean one, and you can be too; we’ve built the foulest Grinch closet cosplay for your holiday enjoyment!
While some might say that Santa Clause is the most recognizable Christmas character, I would argue for someone more green and mean. What’s a more iconic story of Christmas redemption than a grouch who grows a heart (literally) and finally lets go of his grudges?
There have been many versions of this classic American Christmas tale, but my favorite has always been Jim Carry’s rendition. His zany antics are as comical as they are indicative of Carry’s very physical form of comedic acting. His performance as The Grinch was spot on. To celebrate his spectacular Grinch retelling, here’s a Grinch closet cosplay list to inspire YOUR holiday hijinks!
The Grinch Closet Cosplay: The Body Suit
The colder the weather gets, the more I just want to be COMFY. Onesies and body suits have come full into fashion in the last few years, and here is a perfect excuse to use one. This green onesie is soft and comfortable, has pockets, and is the EXACT color for The Grinch! Add in a few key accessories, and you’re ready to rock. (Or throw them).
If you’re more interested in the antics of acting as Santa, there’s a perfect ready-made Grinch kit for you online. From the red velvet slippers to the Santa hat, the fluffy green eyebrows, and everything in between.
The Grinch Closet Cosplay: Makeup Options
If you’re really going to commit to the cosplay and do a full face paint, I can’t recommend Mehron enough. I’ve used their body paint for my Houtua cosplay recently, and it blends beautifully. They have a few different tones that can be used for highlighting and contouring in the green palate, as well!
The Grinch Closet Cosplay: The Feet
These are just hilarious. You can go barefoot or wear regular shoes (or Santa slippers) with this cosplay… But I quite like the ridiculousness of these over-the-top accessories.
The Grinch Closet Cosplay: The Santa Hat
While The Grinch does wear a regular Santa hat during the story, I thought a Who Hat would be so much more fun. This hat is tall and twisty, and will bring the Whimsy to your Seussian cosplay.
