Marvel: Crisis Protocol – ‘Battle For The Throne’ Rivals Panel
Atomic Mass Games has an awesome new Rivals Panel for Marvel: Crisis Protocol coming soon and we got an early look inside the box!
Marvel: Crisis Protocol got a new core set this year and has announced a ton of cool kits coming soon. One such kit is the new Battle For The Throne Rivals Panel. Atomic Mass Games/Asmodee were kind enough to send us a preview copy and we’re going to dive right into the contents.
Battle For The Throne – Rivals Panel
Personally, I really like these Rivals Panel releases. They are cinematic and have great themes. Even if you’re not playing MCP (yet) they make for a fun hobby project. This one in particular is going to be a fun challenge with all the water to paint. Once you complete it, you’ve got a cool diorama ready to show-off and it will make an excellent display piece.
Inside the box, it’s what you’d expect with the MCP sprues in plastic bags, along with all the cards and credits, too.
You’ll get a full set of the Team Tactics cards in various languages. There’s 4 per set. I really like the art work they came up with. Also, there’s alternate versions for the team you assemble. Will Killmonger or Black Panther win? That’s for you to decide!
Also, I the character cards themselves are holographic foil cards. This was a nice touch and as you get another set in multiple languages. These aren’t replacements for their existing versions either — these are just alternate options to use.
Battle For The Throne – The Miniatures
The two characters come on a single sprue. This is actually a very efficient use of space from Atomic Mass Games. They managed to pack on both of them in a rather clean and easy to find setup. I haven’t started assembly yet but this should be a breeze.
The terrain itself is also impressive. There’s a lot of details I was not expecting on this kit. The plastic also feels hardy and sturdy. That’s what I like in terrain as it will get used a lot. This stuff should hold up quite nicely.
It comes on 2 sprues and I appreciate how they split out the water effects from the stone. If you’re the type that likes to paint before you assemble this should be a boon for you.
The Battle For The Throne is currently up for pre-order and will be arriving in stores February 29, 2024. On a leap year release no less. Huh…that’s kinda cool actually. Anyways, Wakada Forever!
Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Rival Panels: Battle for the Throne $99.99
The throne of Wakanda is on the line in the latest Rival Panels pack for Marvel: Crisis Protocol! New versions of T’Challa and Killmonger battle for the throne on a beautifully sculpted waterfall terrain piece that can be customized with 4 optional plant pieces. In addition to the miniatures for both characters, players will also find holographic foil stat cards outlining all of their abilities in this pack, along with 4 new Team Tactic cards that further augment their abilities.
