Marvel’s ‘Echo’ Leans Into Its TV-MA Rating with Brutal New Trailer
Echo isn’t holding back in this new trailer that will excite fans of the Marvel Netflix shows.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Maya Lopez, aka Echo, or gotten news about her solo series. The tough fighter was introduced to the MCU in Hawkeye. The deaf amputee and member of the Cheyenne Nation is the adopted daughter of Kingpin. She’s played by the fantastic Alaqua Cox. She stole every scene she was in.
Marvel’s Echo is the first series under the new ‘Marvel Spotlight’ banner, which includes “grounded, character-driven stories” that don’t tie into the big MCU arc. The mini-series looks more like the Netflix Marvel shows than what we’ve seen on Disney+ over the last couple of years. It’s also going to stream on both Disney+ and Hulu.
Maya’s next chapter will follow her as she leaves New York for her hometown to reconnect with her Indigenous roots and mourn her beloved uncle, William Lopez. But she’s not alone. She’s followed by one of Kingpin’s goons who is out for revenge at the behest of the crime boss.
New Trailer – Echo Earns its Rating
The first look detailed Maya’s connection with Kingpin and her journey to reclaim what she’s lost. This new trailer wants you to know that Echo is hard-hitting, action-packed, and unafraid of complex issues… or blood.
Marvel’s Echo Cast & Details
The cast includes Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, and Graham Greene. Alaqua Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, and Zahn McClarnon are reprising their roles.
“The five-episode streaming event spotlights Maya Lopez as she is pursued by Wilson Fisk’s criminal empire. When the journey brings her home, she must confront her own family and legacy. All five episodes will stream on Jan. 10 on both platforms. They’ll be available on Hulu until April 9. This marks the first Marvel Studios series to drop all entirely bingeable episodes at once.”
The release date got moved up by 24 hours, so we all have a little less time to wait.
Echo premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on January 9th.
