There’s a few new categories you can enter for Games Workshop’s Golden Demon 2024. Are you ready to give one a shot?

The Golden Demon painting competition is one of the top painting competitions out there. It’s a global challenge with the metaphorical gauntlet thrown down by GW to painters — bring your best work and compete against the top contenders! As always there are some AMAZING entries and it they really showcase the hobby skills of the folks that enter. This year there’s a couple different legs of the event with the first one at AdeptiCon in March followed by the Essen Game Fair in October.

That said, the release of Warhammer: The Old World has dropped in some new miniatures that could be viewed as good options to enter into Golden Demon. So GW has modified and added a few categories to compensate.

“A couple of major changes this year open up the competition to even more painters and players than before. Unit categories for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar now include Kill Team and Warcry warbands respectively, while Vehicles and Large Models are grouped together to make room for new categories for Necromunda, Blood Bowl, and epic-scale miniatures from Legions Imperialis, Adeptus Titanicus, and Aeronautica Imperialis.”

Furthermore, Games Workshop wants to keep everything fair and above board. That means there are some Terms and Conditions that apply. Be sure to read those over because, by submitting an entry, you’re agreeing to all of them.

I’m not a lawyer but after giving them a cursory read I, personally, didn’t see anything too wild. So either I missed something (which is likely due to the legalese) or someone probably had an issue with these rules in the past. I’m sure that’s *never* happened before and everyone has been 100% chill in a painting competition…

If you’re going to enter read those Terms and Conditions. Also you can visit the Golden Demon website for more info.
