Games Workshop Rumor Engine: ‘Tall Tail’

There’s a new Rumor Engine this week from Games Workshop and it’s a tail that’s standing tall and not a tall tale.

Is this technically the first Rumor Engine of 2024? I think it is! I can’t blame GW on the break last week as we got almost an image a day for an entire month in December. That said, they are back and here with a new image to tickle your brain.

“After spitting out dozens of images over the Christmas period, the Rumour Engine has cooled down and is back on its usual weekly schedule. Let’s have a look:”

Rumor Engine ‘Tall Tail’

This looks like the tail of a creature that’s pointed up. Either that or a really weird plant with a leafy appendage. Jokingly, GW did ask if this was a Zoat in their post. I don’t think it is…

I mean, if it IS a Zoat, the tail looks a whole lot less “gator like” and more like a Raptadon or some other Seraphon creature’s tail.

It’s more “leafy” than these though. Which is why I mentioned a really weird tree. But hey, Games Workshop could totally add some new features to a new style Zoat. Stranger things have happened before.

So I guess the next question is if this Rumor Engine could be strictly from the Mortal Realms or could this be a hint at something in the 40k arena? Again, maybe — I’m not ruling that out just yet. We don’t have a lot to go on unfortunately.

I don’t think it’s that type of Salamander.

This is where you come in, Internet Detectives. If you’ve got a reasonable theory drop us a line in the comments and let us know what you think it could be. This one is certainly a head scratcher and quite the puzzle for the new year!

Quite the puzzle indeed…
