The end of the Bronze Age has never looked better. Come see what the future holds for ‘Total War: Pharaoh High Tide’ update in a new video.

Total War: Pharaoh’s new High Tide update promises to bring one new culture, two new factions, and multiple styles of play to Total War: Pharaoh. And you’ll get to play it next week, in fact, as it is set to release on the 25th. As a free update for the game, no less.

But you don’t have to wait that long to see what lies in store. Because a new gameplay showcase reveals some of the new mechanics that lie in store. Including a look at the new Horde vs. Settled dynamic, and just how one can forge their own royal path. Let’s take a look!

Total War: Pharaoh High Tide – Gameplay Showcase

You saved Egypt, rallied Hattusa, and settled Canaan. Now, prepare to tear it all down as you command the destiny of the Sea Peoples. Meet your new faction leaders, Iolaos and Walwetes, in our High Tide gameplay showcase.

The High Tide update brings two new factions, the marauding Sherden and the conquering Peleset to the shores of the Levantine coast. While neither side is objectively forced into one style of play, the Peleset leans a little more towards the new “settled” mode and the Sherden leans a little more towards the “horde” style.

But, both factions can make use of both. Since you can declare your armies horde or settled with the click of a button.

As they say, the Sea Peoples must be as fluid as water to survive in this hostile land. You can play along the Path of the Sea Peoples or the Path of the Marauders. But neither one locks you out of either mode. Instead, what you do is let your actions determine your “alignment” so to speak, placing you somewhere on a graph.

In the gameplay showcase, we get a look at some of the new buildings available to the two new factions. The Peleset have royal estates and buildings that make it easier for them to put roots down in the new territories, while the Sherden have special towers that can aid them in sieges and settlement battles.

All of this can be yours in Total War: Pharaoh, available now on Steam.
